Thanks for joining us in Whistler! It was great to see so many of you at our fall tournament in Whistler. We had 757½ tables of play at the Whistler regional this year, held Oct 27-Nov 2. In 2022, there were 735 tables, making this year slightly up versus the last time we were at Whistler. You can see more detail about the table counts here. Congratulations to Cindy Oishi (West Vancouver, BC), Daniel Korbel (Las Vegas, NV), Jacob Morgan (Madison, WI), and William Bailey (Mill Valley, CA), who were our overall masterpoint winners for Whistler with 107.12 points earned during the event! We also want to recognize Juan Xu (Coquitlam, BC) who was our masterpoint leader among the non-life masters for Whistler, with 31.14 points earned! |

| Congratulations to the District 19 2025 Kirkwood Trophy winner, Ray Miller of Seattle, WA! The Kirkwood Trophy is awarded to the District 19 resident who wins the most masterpoints at District regionals in a calendar year. For the second year in a row, we are pleased to announce Ray Miller as this year's Kirkwood Trophy winner. It was an incredibly close call between Ray and Dan Jacob (Vancouver, BC), with both of them attending the Whistler tournament to battle it out. It came down to the final day, with Ray 9.52 points ahead of Dan. In the Top Flight Swiss, Dan won the event for 15.05 points, leaving Ray needing 5.54 to win the Kirkwood. Both Ray and Dan's teams won five of six, with Ray's team getting enough VPs in the final round to take second overall and win Ray the 2025 title! (5 VPs or less in the finale would have flipped the title to Dan.) Ray finished with 251.66 masterpoints at D19 Regionals in 2025, with Dan finishing second with 245.90 masterpoints. Learn more about the Kirkwood Trophy on the D19 website. |
